An impressive restoration and conversion of a historic building.
Located in the heart of Writtle, this remarkable building, a creation of Frederic Chancellor in 1877 for Robert Woodhouse was in disrepair. This building has had a variety of uses throughout its lifespan, serving as Writtle Girls Hostel in 1950 and later as a cherished Community Centre from 1969. Today, following a meticulous restoration and transformation, it has a new life as a collection of ten luxurious apartments, each offering a unique layout and an ode to the building's rich legacy.
The vision was to convert the building into modern spacious apartments while preserving the building’s original charm and safeguarding its historic features. We worked to seamlessly integrate the old and new elements to create captivating spaces.
This historic conversion offers traditional sash windows, high-ceilings and traditional fireplaces merged with modern features such as high-end kitchens and bathrooms. Each apartment benefits with views out to the landscaped grounds, providing a picturesque setting, and each unit is thoughtfully allocated private parking.
